FAQ
Questions procurement teams ask us.
Short answers about how Zupien processes complex documents, preserves source traceability, and supports human review.
About the product
What does Zupien do?▾
Zupien turns complex energy infrastructure documents into structured requirements, risk clauses, checklists, action items, analytics, and decision-support outputs with source citations.
Which documents can Zupien review?▾
Zupien is designed for RFQs, technical specifications, commercial terms, contracts, standards, qualification forms, bid instructions, addenda, drawings, and supporting PDFs used in energy infrastructure workflows. The first wedge focuses on transformer procurement.
Can Zupien handle transformer-specific requirements?▾
Yes. Transformers are the first deep technical taxonomy. Zupien can review expected transformer specification areas while still preserving requirements that fall outside the taxonomy, and the same approach can expand into other equipment and workflow domains.
How accurate is the extraction?▾
Accuracy depends on document quality, structure, scan quality, and workflow complexity. Zupien shows confidence and review states so users can verify, correct, and approve outputs.
How is Zupien different from using ChatGPT or general AI on my documents?▾
Zupien uses equipment-specific taxonomies and multi-document project workspaces designed for procurement workflows. General AI tools process one document at a time without domain structure, source citations, review states, or team collaboration features.
Can Zupien process scanned documents?▾
Zupien can process OCR-scanned PDFs, though accuracy depends on scan quality. Native digital PDFs produce the best results. Contact us if your document packages are primarily scanned.

About trust and data
Does Zupien replace expert review?▾
No. Zupien creates a faster, structured starting point. Bid managers, engineers, legal reviewers, and commercial teams should verify important outputs before making bid, technical, legal, or compliance decisions.
How does Zupien handle source traceability?▾
Requirements, risks, and checklist items are designed to link back to the source document and page so users can inspect the underlying clause or specification.
Is my procurement data sold or shared?▾
No. Zupien does not sell customer procurement documents or extracted bid data. Uploaded documents are used to provide the service and generate the requested outputs.
What happens to my documents after processing?▾
Uploaded documents are used to provide the extraction service. They are not shared, sold, or used to train models. Documents can be deleted from the platform at any time.
